With technology moving to the center of business value, we are seeing an uptick in CIOs who make the leap to CEO. Still, earning that corner office is an achievement few IT leaders can list among their career accomplishments.

As XPO’s first CIO, Mario Harik played a key role in making the logistics company an industry leader and innovation powerhouse. Last year, as XPO was looking to increase the impact of technology on the business, Harik was the perfect candidate to helm the company. He was named CEO and a member of the board in August.

Harik shared with me his vision for growth at the multi-billion dollar logistics firm, the impact of technology on that growth, and advice for CIOs who aspire to be CEO.

The location of this role is flexible within the Eastern and Central time zones.
