Hi Friend,

Wynn Resorts was not looking for a traditional CIO. The global gaming and hospitality organization needed a technologist with experience in customer experience, personalization, and digital transformation, as well a strategist who could create the roadmap to modernize legacy technology.

This was good news for Rajeev Rai, who was CTO at Neiman Marcus when he learned about the role. “At the core of my heart, I am a solution architect,” says Rai, who joined Wynn Resorts as CIO in 2018. “What I enjoy most is solving complex business problems, driving friction out of a process, and empowering people to deliver excellence to the customer. Technology is a means to that end.”

Read all about Rai and his vision of "Five-Star IT" in a new installment of How I Landed My CIO Job, today’s lead item.
