The Heller Report: 2026 Recommended Reading List for Tech Leaders

This year’s list of books suggested by Heller Report readers includes titles aimed at IT executives in the AI and transformation trenches; titles that espouse lessons on leadership, team-building, interpersonal communication, corporate governance, and ransomware response; explainers on how we make decisions, form good habits (and avoid bad ones), and understand statistics about risk that guide decision-making; and a history of precision engineers.

Under our feet, most plant species form underground tubular networks with soil microorganisms called arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. The fungi provide plant roots with nutrients in exchange for carbon. Researchers at the Society for the Protection of Underground Networks created a global map visualizing these networks using a machine learning model trained on global data provided by 322 studies. “Much like trees define the structure of forests aboveground, these fungal networks form a living infrastructure in soils,” they write.
