The Heller Report: September Roundup of New C-Suite Tech Appointments
Check out our new subject line! For the first time in over a decade, we are swapping the “New CIOs” for “New C-Suite Tech Appointments”.
Why? Because CTOs, CISOs, and even Chief AI Officers, are all engaged in the tough work of technology transformation, working in partnership with the CIO. As a case in point, today’s roundup includes EchoStor Technologies’ announcement that Cale Anjoorian, formerly CIO at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, will be its new CIO, while current CIO, Daniel Clydesdale-Cotter, will shift to a new role at Echostor as chief innovation officer. Technology leadership comes in many forms.
But whether you are a CIO, CTO, CAIO, or have any other tech leadership title -- we at Heller wish you well!

In this article, Hesterbrink outlines how IT leaders can adopt more structured mindsets and processes with measurable results that enable continued invention.
Judge Notes AI’s Emergence in Google Antitrust Ruling

AI’s rise has big implications. That’s one of the big takeaways of a federal judge’s ruling in the U.S. government’s antitrust case against Google’s search engine monopoly. “The rapid pace of development in the world of tech, particularly in AI, spurred a judge's cautious approach to curbing Google's online search monopoly,” the Reuters news service reported after U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta declined to have Google sell its Chrome browser as a remedy. Instead, the company will have to share data and some search results with rivals. “The emergence of GenAI changed the course of this case,” Mehta said in the ruling.
